Painted for the thirtieth anniversary of Asia’s first album where I had painted a Dragon in the sea but in the form of a pyramid, the symbol of fire. I wanted to paint a creature of enormous energy, that as it swoops over the water it makes its distant relatives, the carp, dance like iron fillings in the presence of a powerful magnet. A unique collection of Fine Art Limited Edition Prints enhanced with hand painted work by the artist. These prints are offered in standard as well as large version sizes, provided it does not exceed the original painting’s dimensions, all with modest hand finished original painting that Roger feels compliments the image. A more personal suggestion leading to a commission is also possible as part of the series, prices will vary according to the complexity of the project. PRINTS HANDFINISHED BY THE ARTIST Prints hand finished and embellished by the artist, typically in editions of 50. In 1997 I was asked to paint, as well as draw, remarque's on the print. Test pieces were made on 638gsm Heavy Waterford Watercolour paper. The paper did not buckle or distort when worked upon. I let the image define what I would do and after a while I realised that I had two distinct approaches. With, for example, "Dragon at Dawn" or "Pathways" I worked with transparent paints.
